The online application process for the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination will start on 29 December.

This decision was made at a meeting of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) on Thursday, Public Relations Officer SM Matiur Rahman told the Daily Sun.

Aspirants can submit their applications from 10am on 29 December to 11:59pm on 31 January.

Earlier, the application process was scheduled to begin on 10 December, but it was postponed due to unavoidable circumstances, according to the BPSC.

The commission announced the new schedule following a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Wednesday fixing the maximum application fee at Tk200 for all public jobs, including BCS.

On 28 November, the BPSC published a circular for the 47th BCS examination, announcing a total of 3,688 vacancies.

Of the vacant seats, 3,487 are for cadre posts, and 201 are for non-cadre posts.
