Bashundhara Shuvosangho held a festival at its community school in Madaripur on Sunday.
More than 100 students of first, second, and third grades received government-funded textbooks at the festival.
Upon receiving the books, the students shared their enthusiasm for learning with new books.
Fatima Azrin Tonnee, additional deputy commissioner (ADC) of Madaripur, graced the occasion as chief guest.
Noted writer Imdadul Haq Milan inaugurated the community school two years back under the patronage of the Bashundhara Group to share the light of education among the students of the underprivileged community who had to drop out from their primary education.
A total of 150 students have got the opportunity to study free-of-cost in the school.
ADC Fatima Azrin appreciated the initiative to educate the drop-out students from the underprivileged community.
“I really feel proud to engage with children. I will inform my higher authorities about the school and how it can be further expanded and improved,” she said.
Shuvosangho District Unit President Ohiduzzaman Kajal, General Secretary Zubair Zahid, and members Didar Mollah and Roman Sikder, among the school staff, were present on the occasion.
