Renowned film actor and founder of "Nirapad Sarak Chai" Ilias Kanchan on Monday met BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and discussed road safety issues.

Kanchan visited the BNP chairperson's Gulshan office at noon to meet Fakhrul, said BNP Media Cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan.

During the meeting, he said, the actor expressed concern over the worsening road safety situation, citing the increasing number of fatal road accidents and chaos on the streets.

Shayrul said Ilias Kanchan informed the BNP leader about his plans to organise a seminar involving political parties under the banner of "Nirapad Sarak Chai" and requested his presence at the event as the secretary general of a major political party in Bangladesh.

Later, Kanchan presented a publication of "Nirapad Sarak Chai" to the BNP leader.
