A new convening committee of Jahangirnagar University (JU) unit Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was announced on Wednesday.

Jahir Uddin Babor and Wasim Ahmed Anik have been made convener and member secretary of the new committee respectively.

The announcement was made in a press release signed by its Central Office Secretary Md Jahangir Alam with the approval from Central President Rakibul Islam Rakib and General Secretary Nasir Uddin Nasir.

The newly-formed committee, consisting of 56 co-conveners and 119 members, has been directed to form its full-fledged committee through a conference within 30 days, read the release.

Convener Babor is a chemistry department student under the 2009-10 academic session, while Member Secretary Anik is a philosophy department student under the 2010-11 academic session.

Expressing gratitude to the central JCD leadership, Babor said, “The committee has been formed for a short period aiming to constitute the faculty and hall-wise committee. After forming these committees, we will hand over the responsibility to them.”
