Wajhatul Islam Wasti of the Daily Janakantha and Tanvir Ibn Mobarak of the Daily Bhorer Kagoj have been elected as the president and general secretary, respectively, of the Jahangirnagar University Press Club for the 2025-26 tenure.

Assistant Election Commissioner Prof Sultana Akhtar of the history department announced the results at the Teacher-Student Centre of the university around 1pm on Tuesday.

Other elected office bearers are –  Vice-President Mahmudul Hasan (Barta24), Joint Secretary Rahat Chowdhury (the Daily Protidiner Sangbad), Treasurer Osman Sarder (the Jaijaidin), Office Secretary SM Tawhid (Bangla Tribune), Library and Publication Secretary Shahriar Alam Emon (the Daily Khola Kagoj).

Besides, Md Ahsan Habib (The Asian Age) and Md Robiul Islam (Dhaka Times 24) were elected as executive members.
