Every year, Ekushey February is celebrated worldwide as International Mother Language Day. On the day, different TV channels in the country arranged special shows for the audience. Here’s a highlights of the TV shows.

On this occasion, Bangladesh Television (BTV) has arranged a special programme schedule. The special programmes will broadcast throughout the day including the dance show “Amar Barnamala” at 10:00am, “Shishutosh Onushthan” at 10:40am, “Kabita Abriti” at 11:20am.

Special shows on TV today

The music show “Bhashaar Gaan” will be aired at 4:30 pm. Shafi Mondal, Sazia Sultana Putul, Sabbir, Jhilik, Kamruzzaman Rabbi, Muhin and Swarlipi will perform at the show. A special programme “Katha Shahitye Amar Ekushey” will be aired at 5:40pm, and the song and dance drama “Ekushey Chetonay Jatisatta o Swadhinata” will be broadcast at 6:20pm.

A single-episode drama “Bornomalar Gaan” will be aired at 9:05pm. Written by Jamiur Rahman Lemon and produced by Golam Morshed, the drama stars Nazia Farha, Kabir Hossain, Zeba Jannat, and others. Special shows on TV today

Banglavision will air “Bhalobashar Matribhasha”, a special programme is about the sacrifices of the martyrs to protect the mother tongue Bangla. In the programme, Rabindra Sangeet singer Debolina Sur will discuss the various contexts about the day and perform patriotic songs.

The channel will also telecast recitation show “Amar Mayer Bhasha Amar Bhalobasha” at 5:10pm.

Deepto TV will air Bangla film “Chitra Nodir Pare” at 10:15am. Directed by Tanvir Mokammel, the film stars Afsana Mimi, Tauqir Ahmed, Rawshan Jamil, Sumita Devi in key roles.

“Jonmobhumi”, featuring patriotic songs, will be broadcast at 7:45am on Boishakhi Television. The channel will air a special drama “Bhasha O Bhalobasha”, starring Arifin Shuvoo and German actress Eva Moziul, at 10:00pm. The drama is written by Rafiqul Islam Paltu and directed by Lutfun Nahar Moushumi.
