A fire that broke out at a sawmill near Taltola Market in the capital's Khilgaon has been brought under control after about two hours of efforts.

The fire was contained with the help of 10 firefighting units around 9:35 pm on Friday, said Anwarul Islam Dolon, an official from the Fire Service Media Cell.

The fire started around 7:30 pm and spread to buildings adjacent to the mill which were also brought under control.

The cause of the fire, extent of damage, or any casualties could not be known immediately. The firefighting efforts are ongoing.
