Following instructions from acting BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, the Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) has organised exceptional iftar parties on Tuesday for those who were injured in the July uprising.
The ZRF decided to stand by the families of the uprising martyrs and the injured. Two iftar parties were organised separately by the ZRF in honour of the July uprising soldiers who are undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) and at the National Institute of Ophthalmology (NIO) in the capital.
A beautiful box containing iftar items and a greeting letter from ZRF President Tarique Rahman were distributed to 109 wounded soldiers undergoing treatment at the NITOR and 120 brave soldiers at the NIO on the day.
Abu Hossain, brother of martyred Abu Sayed of Rangpur, and Shafi Alam, father of martyred Wasim of Chattogram, distributed the gifts.
In his letter to the injured soldiers, Tarique Rahman said, "Honourable fighting heroes, Assalamu Alaikum. I convey to you my deepest feelings with respect and gratitude. During this holy Ramadan, when we seek Allah's mercy through restraint and prayers, your boundless courage and sacrifice deeply touch our hearts."
"Your physical and mental pain pains us, but at the same time, your contribution inspires us. Your sacrifice and bravery for the nation are a matter of pride for us. We can never fully repay the suffering you have endured, but it is our responsibility to be by your side," the letter reads.
It further said, "This small iftar is a touch of our love, a sign of our respect, a symbol of our commitment - we are, were, and will be by your side. We know that your pain is deep, but we hope that the love and prayers of the nation will give you strength. May Allah grant you a speedy recovery. Your contribution will be forever remembered in the history of the nation. Allah Hafez."
ZRF Executive Director Professor Dr Farhad Halim Donar and NITOR Director Professor Dr Abul Kenan, ZRF Iftar Celebration Committee Convener Anwarunnabi Majumder Babla, central leader Engineer Ashraf Uddin Bakul, agriculturists Dr Abdul Karim, Shafiul Alam Didar, Engineer Mahbub Alam, Prof Dr Abdul Karim, Dr AKM Masud Akhtar Jitu, Mamun Bin Abdul Mannan, Engineer Mehedi Hasan Sohel, members of the Executive Committee, officials at various levels of the ZRF, and professional leaders were among others present during the distribution of Iftar items among 109 injured brave soldiers at the NITOR.
On the other hand, ZRF Director Prof Dr Morshed Hasan Khan, Dr Syeda Tajneen Waris Simki, ZRF's Dr AHS Haider Parvez, Dr Parvez Reza Kakon, ZRF's Iftar Mahfil Celebration Committee Member Secretary Dr Mustafa Aziz Sumon, ZRF's Amirul Islam Kagoji, Dr Sayeed Mehbub ul Qadir, Shafiqul Islam, along with members of the Executive Committee and officials of various levels of the ZRF and professional leaders were present.
They inquired about the treatment of the injured and exchanged greetings.
