Bangladesh national football team arrived in Dhaka on Wednesday with one point as they played out a goalless draw against India in their first-leg match of the AFC Asian Cup 2027 qualifiers’ final round.
The match was held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Shillong on Tuesday night.
A Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) official said that the Bangladesh contingent traveled through three Indian states during their 11-hour inbound journey.
They left Shillong, the capital of Meghalaya, for Guwahati, the capital of Assam, at 7:The am (IST).
Then, they took a flight for Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal as there was no direct flight from Guwahati to Dhaka.
They took a direct flight from Kolkata to Dhaka and landed here at 5 pm (BST).
Meanwhile, the second-leg match between Bangladesh and India will be held on 18 November in Dhaka.
But the men in red and green will host Singapore in their first-leg match on 10 June and will play another match (first-leg) against Hong Kong China on 9 October.
In Shillong, both sides gave their best effort on the pitch to score a goal, but failed to break the deadlock, wasting a lot of chances in either half.
