Four youths were killed and two others injured as two motorcycles they were riding collided head-on in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur on Tuesday afternoon.

The incident took place in the Kutubpur Shaheb Bazar area around 2pm.

Two of the deceased were identified as Mithu Talukder, a resident of Shibchar, and Ridoy Dhali of Zajira upazila in Shariatpur.

Local people said the collision of two speeding motorcycles left two youths dead on the spot and four others injured.

Two of them died on their way to a hospital, they said.

Confirming the number of casualties, Shibchar Police Station Officer-in-Charge Ratan Sheikh said the police were sent to the spot.
