A Dhaka court on Thursday imposed a travel ban on Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, former state minister for shipping, and Imran Ahmad, former minister for expatriates' welfare and overseas employment.
Judge Md Zakir Hossain Galib of the Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judges Court issued the order following two separate petitions filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
As per the ACC petition, Khalid is accused of money laundering, acquiring assets inconsistent with his legal income, and corruption.
The anti-graft body in its petition alleged Imran of corruption, irregularities, and acquiring assets beyond known sources of income.
A travel ban is imposed to stop them from fleeing the country and hinder the process of investigation.
