Alamgir Hossain recently joined Citizens Bank Plc as its managing director. Prior to joining the bank, Hossain worked as the deputy managing director at Bank Asia PLC.

His career in the financial sector spans about 28 years and includes expertise in retail, CMSME, corporate banking, foreign trade and operations divisions, read a press release.

Hossain started his career in 1997 as a probationary officer at Eastern Bank PLC. He joined Bank Asia PLC in 2005. In both the banks, he undertook responsibilities in different key positions in Branches, Business Divisions and Senior Management Team in Corporate Office.

Beside running major branches of Bank Asia as Head of Branch successfully, Hossain led and transformed the Corporate Business division of Bank Asia. He contributed significantly in growth and development of the bank. In recognition of his outstanding contribution in the area of business development, Bank Asia honoured him with its “Service Excellence Award” many times.

Hossain completed his master’s in English from the University of Dhaka.
