The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has banned all forms of rallies, processions, human chains and sit-in programmes at and around Jamuna, the chief adviser’s official residence, and the Bangladesh Secretariat.

The ban would come into effect from Wednesday, DMP said in a notification issued Tuesday.

The ban would apply to Secretariat, Jamuna, Hotel InterContinental intersection, Kakrail Mosque intersection, Officers' Club intersection and Mintoo Road for ensuring public order and safety for the chief adviser, the DMP said in its notification.

DMP Acting Commissioner Md Sarwar signed the notification.
