Around 90 students sustained injuries during clashes with the army and police at the Secretariat on Tuesday afternoon.
Two of the students, aged 16 and 19 years, have been admitted to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), and the rest underwent treatment at the emergency department.
Earlier, hundreds of students breached the Secretariat security perimetre and vandalised vehicles inside, leading to a clash with law enforcers.
Police charged with batons, fired tear gas, and lobbed sound grenades to contain the situation.
The protesting students demanded the resignation of Education Adviser CR Abrar for making a late-night announcement on halting the HSC exams for Tuesday, in the wake of the deadly jet crash at Uttara a day earlier.
The delayed announcement has “infuriated” the students, the agitators claimed. Many students went to examination centres on Tuesday morning, only to know the day's exams were postponed, causing "grief and anger," the agitators said.
