BNP Joint General Secretary Emran Saleh Prince on Sunday said the goals of last year's July-August uprising can only be achieved by arranging credible general elections, while a united front keeps fascists in check.

BNP has taken an oath by touching the blood of thousands of uprising martyrs, and therefore will not let the uprising's spirit get wasted, the leader said while attending an uprising anniversary programme at Mymensingh Town Hall.

BNP takes inspriation from the Liberation War, and takes pride in the uprisings of 1990 and 2024, he said, highlighting the significance of both the uprisings.

BNP will march forward for building a "New Bangladesh" by holding these spirits and prides in its heart.

At the anniversary programme, BNP organised memorial grafiti drawing and rendition of mass music. Before delivering his address, Prince and other participating BNP leaders observed grafitis painted by BNP on Mymensingh city walls.
