The camp of the Bangladesh national football team is set to kick off in Dhaka on 13 August ahead of the FIFA international friendlies in Kathmandu in September.
Meanwhile, the U-23 side will travel to Vietnam to participate in the AFC U-23 Asian Cup Qualifiers scheduled from 3 to 9 September.
With two national squads engaged in parallel assignments, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has, for the first time, formed two separate sub-committees from within its National Teams Committee to oversee the operations of each team.
The three-member sub-committee for the U-23 team includes Iqbal Hossain, Sayeed Hasan Kanan, and Shahadat Hossain. For the senior national team, the committee comprises Amirul Islam Babu, Imtiaz Hossain Sobuz, and Mukitur Rahman.
Although the official letters regarding the committee formation are dated 30 July, relevant stakeholders received formal instructions on 2 August. Both letters bear the joint signatures of BFF president Tabith Awal and senior vice president Imrul Hasan.
According to the letter, the decision to form the sub-committees was taken at a meeting held on 22 July.
In addition to overseeing team affairs, both sub-committees have also been tasked with sponsorship acquisition responsibilities. Although sponsorship is typically managed by BFF’s marketing committee, this additional responsibility has now been handed to the respective sub-committees.
BFF president Tabith Awal also serves as Chairman of the National Teams Committee, while senior vice president Imrul Hasan acts as Deputy Chairman. According to the federation’s constitution, the committee should consist of nine members — including a chairman, deputy chairman, and seven members. However, the current iteration of the committee had 12 members until recently, when Sakhawat Hossain Bhuiyan Shaheen was relieved of his duties. The committee now stands at 11 members.
