TCB to launch nationwide truck sales from Sunday

The Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will begin selling essential goods at subsidised rates through 60 mobile trucks in Dhaka from Sunday, in addition to its ongoing distribution to smart family cardholders.
According to a press release signed by TCB Deputy Director Md Shahadat Hossain, the truck sales in Dhaka will run from 10 August to 13 September (except Fridays).
The programme will also operate in other areas, including 25 trucks in Chattogram city, 6 in Gazipur city, 3 in Cumilla city, and 8 in Dhaka district.
Additionally, trucks will be deployed in Cumilla district (12), Faridpur district (4), Patuakhali district (5), and Bagerhat district (5) from 10 August to 31 August (except Fridays).
Each truck will sell products to 500 people daily at affordable rates - soybean oil (2 litres) for Tk230, sugar (1kg) for Tk80, and lentils (2kg) for Tk140.
The goods will be available to all consumers, not just cardholders.
The sale price for smart family cardholders will remain unchanged, as per the existing arrangement, the release said.
