Actress Shomi Kaiser has been released on bail. She was freed from Kashimpur Women’s Central Jail on Thursday (14 August) at 10:40 pm.

Additional Inspector General of Prisons (Addl. IG Prisons) Md. Jahangir Kabir confirmed the information.

Shomi Kaiser was arrested on the night of 5 November 2024 from House No. 53 on Road No. 6, Sector 4, Uttara. She was later shown arrested in two separate attempted murder cases at Uttara East Police Station in Dhaka.

On 10 August, a High Court bench comprising Justice ASM Abdul Mobin and Justice Md. Jabid Hossain granted her bail in the attempted murder case of Zubayer Hasan Yusuf.

She also secured bail in another attempted murder case involving businessman Ishtiaq Mahmud. As there were no other cases against her, she has now been released from jail.
