Bangladesh’s recurve men’s team narrowly missed out on a medal at the World Junior Archery Championships in Winnipeg, Canada, after losing to Australia in the bronze medal playoff.
The trio of Sagar, Alif and Rakib produced an impressive run, defeating Poland and Mexico to book their place in the semifinals. However, they were outclassed 5-1 by powerhouse South Korea, who eventually went on to clinch gold by defeating the USA in the final.
Bangladesh then faced Australia in the bronze decider but again went down by the same 5-1 scoreline, leaving them empty-handed despite their spirited effort.
All of Bangladesh’s archers competed in the U-21 category across both team and individual events.
