Shakib Al Hasan has added another stop to his ever-expanding franchise cricket journey, signing up for the inaugural Canada Super Sixty League. The Bangladesh allrounder, once ranked the world’s best, will represent Montreal Tigers in the brand-new T10 tournament to be held in Vancouver from 8 to 13 October.

The six-team competition, played across six days, will feature a host of international stars alongside Shakib. Montreal Tigers have built a balanced squad with the likes of Josh Brown, Tom Moores, Isuru Udana and Andrew Tye joining forces with the Bangladesh veteran.

Tournament organizers have already confirmed several big-name signings across different franchises. Fans can expect to see Dawid Malan, Chris Lynn, Shoaib Malik, Alex Hales, Jason Roy, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Quinton de Kock, Martin Guptill, David Wiese, Rassie van der Dussen, Moeen Ali, Dwaine Pretorius, Imran Tahir, and Sikandar Raza in action.

For Shakib, Canada is the latest stop in a busy year of globetrotting franchise cricket. He is currently featuring for Antigua and Barbuda Falcons in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), having also turned out for Dubai Capitals in the Global Super League (GSL) earlier this year. The 37-year-old has previously played in the T10 Max Sixty in the Caribbean, as well as numerous stints in the Pakistan Super League, Global T20 Canada, and other leagues worldwide.

Shakib is no stranger to Canadian cricket, having represented Montreal Tigers in the Global T20 Canada tournament in previous years. His return to the same franchise for the Canada Super Sixty adds extra star power to the side as they look to make a mark in the league’s first edition.
