Chattogram's traditional Jashn-e-Julus attracted a massive crowd this year, transforming the streets into a sea of devotion for the Prophet Muhammad (S). The procession commenced at 10am from the Alomgir Khanqah, adjacent to the Jamia Ahmadiya Sunnia Kamil Madrasa in Sholoshohor.
Organised by the Anjuman-e-Rahmania Ahmadiya Sunnia Trust, this marks the 54th edition of the Jashne Julus. Allama Syed Muhammad Sabir Shah, the Sajjadanashin of the Darbar-e-Sirikot, led the procession, accompanied by Hazrat Syed Muhammad Qasem Shah and Syed Muhammad Mehmood Ahmad Shah.
From early morning, devotees arrived from Cox's Bazar, Bandarban, Khagrachari, and Rangamati to join the celebration. The areas surrounding Sholoshohor, Bibirhat, Muradpur, Bahaddarhat, the Two Number Gate, and GEC turned into bustling gatherings of worshippers even before the procession began.
The atmosphere buzzed with hymns, praises for the Prophet, and slogans of devotion. The procession wound its way through Bibirhat, Muradpur, Sholoshohor, the Two Number Gate, and GEC before returning to the Jashne Julus ground at the Madrasa.
There, attendees participated in a gathering, performed the Zuhr prayer, and engaged in a special prayer for the prosperity of the nation. The police administration and designated volunteers ensured the event's order and safety, as stated by Anjuman's spokesperson Advocate Mosahib Uddin Bakhtiar.
The Jashne Julus originated in Chattogram on the 12th of Rabiul Awal in 1974, initiated by the then Sajjadanashin of Darbar-e-Aliya Qaderiya Sirikot Sharif (Pakistan), the spiritual leader Allama Syed Muhammad Tayyab Shah (RA). This procession serves to honor the beloved Prophet and convey a message of global peace.
