Security has been stepped up at the shrine of Lalon Shah in Chheuriya of Kumarkhali upazila in Kushtia. 

Kumarkhali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khondoker Ziaur Rahman confirming the matter said Police were deployed at the main entrance of the Akhrabari from 11:00am on Saturday.

The measure was taken in light of Friday’s attack on a shrine in Rajbari and other related concerns, prompting heightened security across the district, police sources said.

Kushtia Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Mizanur Rahman told media that additional security arrangements had been reinforced in view of several sensitive issues.
