The Bashundhara Shuvosangho Library at Patuakhali Government Women’s College organised a quiz competition on Wednesday as part of its regular educational activities.

The initiative aimed to sharpen the knowledge and creativity of students while encouraging them to explore the world of books beyond academics.

The competition, held at 11:00am in the college auditorium, was graced by Professor Md Modachher Billah, principal of Patuakhali Government Women’s College, as the chief guest.

Special guests included Md Nazmul Karim from the Department of Islamic History, Associate Professor Samir Kumar Kundu from the Department of Philosophy, and Professor Md Rashidul Hasan from the Department of Chemistry.

Also present were Bashundhara Shuvosangho well-wisher Mitu Akter and students Farhana, Johora, Mun, Jerin, Brishti Rani, Orthi Saha, Hisan, Amena, Sneha, Taslima, Laboni, Monalisa, among others.

Three winners were announced from among the participants: Rupa, a first-year honors student, secured first place; Baishakhi, a twelfth-grade student, came second; and Karuna Akter, also from the twelfth grade, placed third.

Speaking at the event, Principal Professor Md Modachher Billah praised the initiative, saying, “Bashundhara Shuvosangho has always taken student-friendly initiatives. This quiz competition will help students develop their intellect and sharpen their skills. Such programmes will play an important role in their future endeavors. I request that this initiative continues every month and urge everyone to stand beside Shuvosangho in its efforts.”
