Four more prosecution witnesses on Sunday testified in three graft cases filed against 23 people, including deposed prime minister Sheikh Hasina, her sister Sheikh Rehana, and niece British MP Tulip Siddiq.
The witnesses are Mohammad Forhaduzzaman, Sheikh Shamsher Ali, Himel Chandra Das, and Akter Jahan.
Judge Md Rabiul Alam of the Special Judge's Court-4 in Dhaka recorded their statements for an hour, said ACC Public Prosecutor Mir Ahmed Ali Salam.
He said witnesses Forhaduzzaman, Shamsher, Himel, and Akter testified in the graft case filed against 17 people, including Hasina, Rehana, and Tulip, and in another graft case filed against 18 people, including Hasina, Azmina Siddiq, and Tulip.
Witness Akter testified only in the third graft case filed against 18 people, including Hasina, Radwan Mujib Siddiq, and Tulip, the state lawyer added.
After recording statements, the court also set 6 October for next hearings in three cases.
Earlier, 11 witnesses had given their statements in the same three cases.
The anti-graft body lodged six separate cases with its Dhaka Integrated District Office-1 between 12 January and 14 over alleged irregularities in the allocation of plots under the Purbachal New Town project.
The Anti Corruption Commission alleged that Hasina, in collusion with senior Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) officials, unlawfully secured six plots -- each measuring 10 kathas -- in the diplomatic zone of Sector 27 of the Purbachal New Town project for herself, her daughter Saima Wazed Putul, and son Sajeeb Wazed Joy; Rehana and her son Radwan; and her daughter Azmina, despite their ineligibility under existing regulations.
On 25 March, the ACC filed six charge sheets with the Metropolitan Senior Special Judge's Court in Dhaka, where Hasina was named as a common accused in all six cases.
On 31 July, charges were framed against 29 people, including Hasina, Rehana, Joy, Putul, Bobby, Tulip, and Azmina, in their respective cases.
