BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince has claimed that the party’s popularity and acceptability remain at the top by any standard, but a vested quarter is spreading false propaganda against it.

“In reality, people want to see BNP in power and believe that only BNP has the ability to lead the country,” he said while addressing a general meeting of BNP and its affiliated bodies at the Agojatra Convention Center in Haluaghat municipal town of Mymensingh on Thursday (25 September) morning.

Prince added that BNP is taking comprehensive preparations ahead of the next election through membership renewal, new recruitment, and organizational restructuring at the grassroots.

He also warned of conspiracies aimed at obstructing the party’s march forward, delaying or thwarting the election, and reinstating past autocratic rule.

“No one will be able to stop BNP’s forward journey. We must face all conspiracies politically and hold a meaningful election, a people-elected government, and a functional parliament,” he said.

Expressing optimism, he noted that BNP’s acting chairman Tarique Rahman would return to the country soon to lead the fulfillment of public aspirations.

He urged party leaders and activists to remain united, avoid divisions, and work for public welfare to uphold people’s trust in the party.

The meeting was presided over by Haluaghat Upazila BNP convener Aslam Mia Babul and conducted by member secretary Abu Hasanat Badrul Kabir, with several local leaders also addressing the programme.
