Police have detained Shahed Ahmed Majumder, son of former State Minister for Industries and former member of parliament for Dhaka-15 constituency Kamal Ahmed Majumder.

Members of the Counter Terrorism Unit picked him up from the Gulshan area of the capital on Saturday (27 September) and handed him over to Gulshan Police Station.

Gulshan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman confirmed the incident.

The OC said that Shahed was taken to the station over his alleged involvement in certain matters. He would be shown arrested if evidence of involvement is found.

However, the authorities did not specify in which case he would be shown arrested.
