Sewing training makes women in Bangladesh Charfesson happy

Women in Charfesson upazila of Bhola expressed immense joy after the launch of a sewing training programme initiated by Bashundhara Shuvosangho.
The programme, designed to empower underprivileged women, was officially inaugurated on Tuesday (30 Sept) at the hall room of North Aslampur Government Primary School (No- 142).
The event was conducted by Charfesson upazila representative Kamrul Sikder and presided over by upazila Shuvosangho President M Amir Hossain.
Guests included Mohiyuddin Bacchu, adviser to the committee and acting principal of Charfassion Women’s College; Md Shafayat Hossain, president of the Bhola district committee; Vice President Abid Hossain; Joint Secretary Emran Khan; Upazila Joint General Secretary Yunus Talukder; Organisational Secretary Nahidul Islam Nayeem; local school teacher Md Shahabuddin; social worker Md Salauddin; and sewing trainers Md Mansur and Jakir Hossain.
Speakers praised the initiative, noting that Bashundhara Shuvosangho has long been working to uplift marginalised communities in remote areas.
In Charfesson, the organisation has previously arranged iftar during Ramadan, conducted seminars in schools and colleges to combat drug abuse, provided financial aid for underprivileged and disabled students to enroll in college, and distributed food to needy families.
The current sewing training programme, coupled with the provision of sewing machines, was described as a powerful step toward making disadvantaged women self-reliant.
Trainee Munni expressed her gratitude, saying, “Bashundhara Shuvosangho will bring us from hardship to self-reliance by giving us sewing training. For this, I sincerely thank and pray for Bashundhara Group.”
