BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince has said that despite earlier reservations about several issues in the July Charter, the BNP has demonstrated its sincerity towards national unity by accepting those points at the discussion table in the greater interest of the country, the nation, and democracy.
“However, a few political parties have failed to rise above narrow interests and are disappointing the nation by setting conditions even at the final stage, he added,” he said.
Prince made the remarks on Thursday afternoon while exchanging views with local businessmen, buyers, sellers, and general people during a mass campaign at Dobaura Bazar in Mymensingh.
During the campaign, he held open discussions with the public, listened to their problems, and assured them that a BNP government would address their issues in phases.
As part of the campaign, Prince distributed leaflets containing BNP’s 31-point agenda presented by Tarique Rahman and the party’s future welfare plans, urging people to vote for the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol.
Prince said that BNP aims to bring revolutionary changes in the socio-economic development of both rural and urban populations, taking inclusive initiatives for all classes, professions, ages, and regions.
He called upon leaders of all political parties to honour the people’s aspiration for a mass upsurge and to repay the debt of the martyrs’ blood by coming forward with an open mind.
