Bashundhara Community Park opens to bring joy to residents

Amid the concrete jungle of Dhaka, Bashundhara Residential Area has found a fresh breath of life in Bashundhara Community Park, a place for a serene escape to greenery where residents can reconnect with nature.
Inaugurated on Thursday afternoon, the park is located in N Block of the residential area and welcomes visitors every day from 6am to 10pm.
Several senior officials of Bashundhara Group were present at the inauguration ceremony. Among them were renowned novelist and Bashundhara Group Adviser Imdadul Haq Milan, Deputy Managing Director Bidyut Kumar Bhowmik, Adviser (Press and Media) Mohammad Abu Tayyab, Bashundhara Welfare Society General Secretary (Acting) Moktar Hossain Chowdhury, and Md Abdul Bari, Media Adviser to Bashundhara Group Chairman.
Spread around a wide and calm lake, the park offers a tranquil setting that instantly soothes the mind. The gentle breeze over the water and the sound of footsteps on the jogging track create an atmosphere of peace rarely found in the city.
A jogging track and a separate cycling lane encircle the lake, encouraging residents to embrace a more active lifestyle.
For children, there is a colourful and safe play zone, while fitness enthusiasts can avail modern outdoor exercise equipment placed across the park.
Beside the park, the Heritage Express Cafe offers the perfect spot to unwind with a cup of coffee, surrounded by greenery and fresh air.
Residents expressed their excitement after the opening.
Minhajul Abedin Mued, a student from Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) and also a resident of the residential area, said, “It’s wonderful to finally have such a beautiful and peaceful space right in our neighbourhood."
Nigar Sultana, a homemaker and mother of two living in the area, said, “My children love the play zone. It’s safe, clean and full of joy, something we’ve been missing for a long time in our area.”
More than just a recreational spot, Bashundhara Community Park is shaping up to be a community hub, a place where families, friends and neighbours can meet, exercise or simply enjoy moments of calm and peace.
Blending modern facilities with natural beauty, the park stands as a symbol of how urban life and nature coexist, bringing health, harmony and happiness to the residents of Bashundhara Residential Area.
