Bangladesh batter Sobhana Mostary produced a standout performance against Australia in the ICC Women’s World Cup as she scored an unbeaten 66 off 80 balls, earning a significant rise in the latest ICC Women’s ODI batting rankings. The middle-order batter climbed 13 places to reach 57th position after registering a composed half-century against the defending champions.
Fellow batters Sharmin Akhter Supta and skipper Nigar Sultana Joty have also made progress in the rankings. Supta, now Bangladesh’s highest-ranked batter, moved up two places to 29th, while Joty rose two spots to 34th.
Sobhana has scored 169 runs in six matches in the 2025 World Cup, while Joty has contributed 148 runs. Supta leads Bangladesh’s batting chart with 176 runs in the tournament.
Although Bangladesh have been eliminated from the competition, the consistent performances from their top order have been a bright spot. The Tigresses will play their final match of the World Cup against India on 26 October at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai.
