Bashundhara Kings’ AFC Challenge League campaign has been a challenging journey, and results have so far not gone their way. The Bangladeshi side suffered back-to-back defeats in Group B, effectively ending their hopes of progressing to the knockout stage.

Their chances were dealt a major blow on Tuesday night as they were comprehensively beaten 3–0 by Lebanese powerhouse Al Ansar FC at the Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah Stadium in Kuwait, following a narrow 3–2 loss to Oman’s Al-Seeb in their opening match. With two defeats from two games, Kings are already eliminated from the tournament.

In Group B, Al-Seeb currently leads the standings with a win and a draw, while Kuwait SC sits second on the same points. Al Ansar, who lost their first match against Kuwait SC, bounced back strongly with the victory over Bashundhara Kings, keeping their own qualification hopes alive.

Bashundhara Kings’ final match against Kuwait SC on Friday at 10:00 PM local time will have no bearing on the standings. However, the team is determined not to return home empty-handed.

Leaders Topu and Rakib have stressed the importance of ending the campaign on a positive note, with the squad focused on giving their best performance. Despite being eliminated, Bashundhara Kings aim to challenge Kuwait SC’s defence, showcase their fighting spirit, and finish the tournament with pride.

For Bangladeshi fans, the final match represents an opportunity to see their team bounce back, gain confidence, and collect valuable experience for future continental competitions. Though the campaign did not unfold as planned, the Kings remain determined to leave Kuwait on a strong note.
