Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra celebrated the 52nd birthday of Sheikh Russel, the youngest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on Sunday.
The club members and officials observed the day with befitting manners by placing of floral wreaths at the grave of Sheikh Russel at Banani in the capital and offering special prayer. Quran Khatam was also performed in the camp of the club.
The programme was started in the afternoon placing floral wreath at the grave of Sheikh Russel.At that time the holy Quran was reciting with pleasant-sounding.
Later, Director in-charge Ismat Jamil Akand Lavlu cut a beautiful and mega size cake at the Bashundhara’s club office.
Ismat Jamil Akand Lavlu said “It is day for joys alongside mourning. Our Club’s chairman and country’s largest business conglomerate Bashundhara Group Managing Director Sayem Sobhan Anvir is now in abroad for business purpose. We were celebrating the programme at the directives of club’s chairman. The programme would be more colorful if the chairman is present.”
The programme ended at club camp following a special prayer. Besides, a Khatam-e-Quran ceremony also held. Club players and officials were present during the programme.
Marking this birthday programme, Jamil Akand promised to form a strong team for next season saying “You will be surprised during team change of the players. This time, we will form strong team by the country’s top players along with some foreign players.”

Maksudur Rahman, secretary to Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra chairman Sayem Sobhan Anvir, was also present at the programme.
