Mural of Bangabandhu unveiled at CVASU

CHITTAGONG: A large mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was unveiled on Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU) campus on Wednesday.


Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid inaugurated the mural along with first-ever ‘Anatomy Museum’ and a ‘Fisheries Museum’ on the university campus.


Later, the minister attended a ceremony organised on the occasion of according reception to newly enrolled students of the university.    


Nahid in his speech said the young generation must be educated keeping consistence with the qualities of global education to take future leadership of the country.


“The universities should carry out research for generating new knowledge and our problems will have to be addressed by ourselves,” said the minister.   


“We have to go forward keeping pace with the fast moving globe,” he said, observing that the country will advance further once the male and female are given equal privileges.


CVASU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Goutam Buddha Das presided over the ceremony also addressed by Education Ministry Secondary and Higher Secondary division Secretary Md Sohrab Hossain and Chittagong city Awami League President and former Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury as special guests.  


Mentionable, the 15 feet high and 10 feet wide mural of Bangabandhu was set up at a cost of Tk 2.2 million on the campus.
