Bangladesh Jute Mills Corporation (BJMC) retained the title of the National Women’s Handball Championship for the 3rd successive time crushing Bangladesh Ansar by 27-9 goals in the 27th edition final at Shaheed Captain M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium on Wednesday.
This is the 10th title for BJMC in the national handball championship.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim distributed the prizes in the closing function as the chief guest.
Shilpi Begum was adjudged player of the tournament.
In the day’s final, Sumi Begum and Falguni Biswas scored six goals each while Shilpi Begum added five goals for the winners. Moyna scored three goals for the losing side.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Police Handball Club finished 3rd in the meet outplaying Dhaka District by 30-11 goals in the place-deciding match at the same venue also on Wednesday.
Sabina scored 14 goals and Sayeeda netted 10 goals for the Police team. Lina scored three goals for Dhaka.
