Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Anisul Huq said that the vagueness arising from section 57 of the ICT Act will be removed in the new Digital Security Act.
“The Digital Security Act will remove all the confusions and questions about the freedom of speech,” he said.
He came up with the remarks while talking to journalists after an event to hand over 11 vehicles to lower court judges at the secretariat in the capital on Thursday.
Anisul Huq said that the cabinet already gave in principle approval to the draft of Digital Security Act.
The law ministry is examining the draft law and will hold an inter-ministerial meeting in the meantime.
“All the participants of the inter-ministerial meeting gave opinions in favour of the proposed law considering overall aspects,” he said.
The minister said the draft law will be finalised after a meeting with stakeholders soon.
