3-day int’l bldg construction expo begins in city

Industries Ministry Additional Secretary Shusen Chandra Das is seen at the inaugural ceremony of a three-day international exposition on building construction technology, wood materials, interior exterior, lighting and power sourcing at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital on Thursday.

A three-day international exposition on building construction technology, wood materials, interior exterior, lighting and power sourcing kicked off at International Convention City, Bashundhara in the capital on Thursday.
More than 90 local and international companies in building construction technology and power sourcing sector from more than five countries are taking part in the expo.
Companies are displaying cement, paints, cables, doors and windows, generator, solar products, interior, exterior products, glass & glazing, fire safety, security, elevators, construction machinery, power and steel products at the fair.
Kites International is organising the expo in association with Sharif Metal and EnergyPac’s construction materials venture Steelpac.
Industries Ministry Additional Secretary Shusen Chandra Das was chief guest while Energypac Power Generation Managing Director Humayun Rashid, Kites International Chairman Roksana Begum, Sharif Metal Managing Director Mohammad Omar Faruk, BKMEA Second vice-president Md Monsoor Ahmed, Bonn University researcher Md Monirul Hasan spoke, among others, on the inauguration of the expo.
Additional Secretary Shusen Chandra Das said, “Demands of construction and power-related products and technologies are increasing in Bangladesh as the country is developing its infrastructures rapidly. This expo will help the customers choose modern technologies and products.”
Saidur Rahman, managing director of Kites International, said the expo 2017 will be a meeting point of domestic and international businesses to explore the growing business potentials in building and construction and power and energy sector in Bangladesh.
The show will remain open between 10: 00 am to 7:00 pm every day without any entry fee.
