Awami League organising secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury on Sunday alleged that a conspiracy is on in national and international level to foil the upcoming eleventh national elections.

Conspirators are trying to create another 1/11-like situation, he said while addressing a discussion organised by Swadhinata Shikkhak Parishad at National Press Club in the capital.

The organising secretary said those who were partners of the immediate past caretaker government are still around Awami League.

He called upon AL leaders and activists to identify the collaborators of masterminds who were behind the 1/11 changeover.

Khalid Mahmud alleged that the then army-backed caretaker government arrested AL President Sheikh Hasina without any warrant and was forced to release her due to mass protest.

Addressing the event, Railways Minister Mujibul Haque said all the country’s militants have link with BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.

In 2006, Khaleda Zia-led government physically assaulted teachers, he said.

Food Minister Quamrul Islam, Prof Abdul Mannan Chowdhury, AL leader MA Karim, and Swadhinata Shikkhak Parishad General Secretary Shahjahan Alam Saju, among others, were present.
