Re-rolling mill accident injures 9 workers in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: At least nine workers of a re-rolling mill were injured as molten hot iron spilled on them at Sitakunda upazila in the district on Sunday.    


The injured were identified as Nizam Uddin, 32, Md Hassan, 38, Md Nasir Uddin, 40, Sekandar Ali, 48, Sanjoy Das, 29, Omar Faruk, 35, Md Mostafa, 27, Md Raju, 30, and Shafiqul Islam, 33.


Office-in-Charge (OC) Iftekhar Hassan of Sitakunda Police Station said the accident occurred when molten hot iron spilled on them from a burner at Sima Auto Re-rolling Mill in Banur Bazar area under the upazila.   


The accident left at least nine workers injured, he said.


The injured were sent to a private clinic in the city and undergoing treatment there, said the OC, adding that investigation was going on in this regard.
