Claiming that BNP’s relief programme for Rohingya refugees in Cox’s Bazar was obstructed, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the party secretary general, on Wednesday urged the government to remove all obstacles and give it scope to distribute relief among Rohingyas.

He alleged that BNP’s central relief distribution team, led by the party’s standing committee member, Mirza Abbas, along with 22 truckloads of relief goods went to Cox’s Bazar to distribute relief among the Rohingya refugees but police and administration didn’t allow them to go to Ukhia.

Besides, the BNP relief team was besieged by police at Cox’s Bazar district BNP office that day.

The BNP leader came up with the statement while speaking at a discussion at Institution of Engineers Bangladesh in the capital organised by BNP, marking the Jail Release Day of its Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman.
