CHITTAGONG: A cargo aircraft of Iran arrived at Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong with 28.350 tonnes of relief materials for the Rohingya refugees on Thursday.
With this, a total of 279.51 tonnes of relief materials from five countries mostly Muslim ones came in Bangladesh for the Rohingyas since September 9.
Of them, Iran sent a total of 69.35 tonnes of relief materials till now.
The Iranian aircraft with the relief materials landed at the airport at 3:00pm on Thursday while another aircraft of the country with 41 tonnes on September 15.
Chittagong Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC-Education and ICT) Md Habibur Rahman received the relief materials from Iranian First Counsellor Houshang Nematullah Zabeh to Bangladesh Embassy.
ADC Habibur Rahman said the consignment consisted of blankets, tents, ground sheets, medicine and medical equipment.
