Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi held talks with Bangladesh Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali at the state guest house Meghna in the capital on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier, the Chinese minister reached Dhaka in the morning to pay a two-day visit to Bangladesh, diplomatic sources said.
The two foreign ministers held talks for nearly two hours, but no briefing was held after the meeting.
State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam, Foreign Secretary Shahidul Haque and Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ma Mingqaing also attended the meeting.
The Chinese minister also called on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganabhaban in the evening.
He is scheduled to leave Dhaka on Sunday to join the 13th foreign ministers’ meeting -Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) in Myanmar from November 20 to 21.
