Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader on Saturday said overall 51.5 percent of Padma Bridge project was completed so far, reports UNB.
Visiting the Padma Bridge project at Mawa Chaurasta in Medinimandal union of Lauhakang upazila Obaidul, also general secretary of ruling Awami League came up with the remarks.
“The construction of the Padma Bridge is underway in full swing, the work will be completed timely,: he said adding that the bridge is no more a dream now, soon it’s going to be a reality.
The second span of the Bridge will be set within next four to five days while supplementary works for another 10 spans are underway at the Mawa end is also underway, he added.
On February 2, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will go to Tungipara through Mawa while she will observe the advancement of the project, Obaidul said..
