Attacks on Bangladesh mission in London protested

A human chain was held on Tuesday in protest against BNP’s recent attack on Bangladesh High Commission in London and demeaning Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman by vandalising his portraits.

Hundreds of people from all social strata gathered at the Banani playground in the afternoon carrying banners and placards. They also chanted slogan demanding exemplary punishment of the attackers and urged government to bring back BNP’s acting chairperson Tarique Rahman, as he was behind the attack.

On Wednesday, a group of demonstrators of UK chapter of BNP and its front organizations entered the high commission in the name of submitting a memorandum and assaulted its employees while vandalising some valuables equipment including portrait of the Father of the Nation.

Famous actress Sarah Begum Kobori, President of National Press Club Shafiqur Rahman, Nurjahan Begum Mukta, Nazma Akhter, Arifa Rahman Ruma, Mamun Al Mahtab, Nuzhat Chowdhury, Taufiqur Rahman, Tarik Hasan Shomi, Shah Ali Farhad, Faiyazul Huq Razu, Enamul Huq and Jasim Uddin Akanda Rony, among others, were present at the event.

Earlier, a delegation of protesters led by Chairperson of Suchinta Foundation Mohammad A Arafat went to British High Commission in Bangladesh to submit a memorandum to bring the attackers to book.
