Three matches of third round of Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League will be played today at three separate venues. Lt Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Ltd will take on Mohammedan Sporting Club in their third match of the season at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan (BKSP) ground 3.
In the other two matches of the day, Prime Bank Cricket Club will lock horns with Legends of Rupganj while Shinepukur Cricket Club will meet Agrani Bank Cricket Club.The matches will be held at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah and BKSP ground 3 respectively.
Sheikh Jamal players had a training session yesterday at Dhanmondi in the capital ahead of their third match in the 50-over List-A tournament. They won their first match against Legends of Rupganj by three runs and outplayed Agrani Bank in the second match by 28 runs.
Ahead of the match, Sheikh Jamal’s all-rounder Elias Sunny said on Wednesday that they are focusing to extend their win streak.
“We have won the first two matches we played this season. We are focusing on to play match by match in the tournament as our coach instructed us,” Sunny said.
The 32-year old cricketer added that their aim will be winning tomorrow’s (today) match against Mohammedan.
Mohammedan have lost their previous two matches this season and will be keen to make a comeback today when they take on title contender Sheikh Jamal.
“There are few lacking in our team but we have enough players to back up our side when needed. All of them are capable to play good cricket and hopefully they will prove themselves,” he added.
