Three muggers held with 13 auto-rickshaws

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) in a drive arrested three muggers along with 13 stolen CNG-run auto-rickshaws from Tejkunipara area of the city on early Monday, reports UNB.
The arrestees were identified as Md Akbar Hossain, 30, son of Tajul Islam of Kanchanpur village in Ramganj upazila of Laxmipur, Md Rubel, 18, son of Suruj Ali of Paratoli village in Raipura upazil of Narsingdi and Md Jony, 18, son of Md Shah Alam of Boalmara village in Raipura upazil of Narsingdi.
Acting on secret information, a team of Rab-2 conducted a drive at the area around 3:30am and arrested the trio along with the auto rickshaws which were reportedly snatched away, said a press release issued on Monday.
In primary interrogation the arrestees confessed to the elite force that they had been involved in the buying and selling of auto-rickshaws which were snatched away from different places of the city including Mirpur, Gabtali, Mohammmadpur, Kawranbazar, and Farmgate.
The team also recovered 30 anesthesia tablets, three Tiger Balm ointments, three small bottles filled with anesthesia liquid, one Zam-buk ointment and three mobile SIM cards, said the released.
