39 Bangladeshis held at Benapole border

JESSORE: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested 39 Bangladeshi nationals along Daulatpur bordering area in Benapole here on Tuesday, reports UNB.

Tipped off, a team of BGB-21 conducted a drive in the area and arrested them around 8:30 am while they were trying to enter into the country from India without any valid documents, said Lt Col Tariqul Hakim, commanding officer of BGB-21.

Among the arrestees, 14 were female and seven were children, hailing from Barisal, Khulna, Narail, Satkhira and Jessore districts.

The arrestees were later handed over to Benapole Port Police Station.
