Bangladesh Pratidin, the country’s largest circulated Bangla daily, has accorded honour to renowned actress Sujata.
Editor of the daily Naem Nizam handed over a cheque for Tk 1 lakh to her as a token of this honour at a programme at the newspaper’s head office at Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital on Sunday. The editor also declared Sujata as a member of the Bangladesh Pratidin family.
Expressing her gratitude for the honour, Sujata said that she is immensely proud to become a member of the popular newspaper.“I pray for gradual development of the newspaper,” she said.
Daily Kaler Kantho editor Imdadul Haq Milon, Bangladesh Pratidin advertisement department adviser Khandker Kamrul Haque Shamim and general manager M Masudur Rahman, East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL) accounts department deputy general manager SM Mehedi Hasan and assistant general manager Abdul Mannan and manager Mahbubul Alam were also present on the occasion.
Sujata rose to fame by acting in film Rupban directed by Salauddin in 1965.
She also acted in Osru Diye Lekha, Obujh Mon, Dharapat, Dui Digonto, Protinidhi, Takar Khela, Orpon and Ekhane Akash Neel. She produced and directed various films.
