Nilphamari phase of ‘Teer Grassroots Archery Hunt Programme 2018’ began on Saturday at Nilphamari District Sports Association.
Organised by Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF), the event is being held under the project of ‘Teer Go for Gold’ across the country in order to bring out talented archers.At 10:00am on yesterday morning, Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor inaugurated the talent hunt programme as the chief guest of the event.
Nilphamari District Police Super and Niphamari DSA Vice-President Md Ashraf Hossain was present as special guest.
Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) General Secretary and Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) Treasurer Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapol and BAF Vice-President Md Anisur Rahman Dipu were also present in the opening ceremony.
Nilphamari district’s Additional Deputy Commissioner and Nilphamari DSA Vice-President Md Shahinur Alam presided over the function yesterday. Senior officials of Nilphamari DSA and sportsmen were present on the occasion.
Around 400 boys and girls partook in the opening day. 100 archers have been selected from the first day’s trial. Top 20 boys and 20 girls from the selected 100 archers will go through 8-day training camp and they will be given ranks according to their skills.
