Mentally challenged youth crushed under train in Sylhet

SYLHET: A mentally challenged young man was crushed under a train in south side of Kushiara railway bridge in Feunchuganj upazila on Friday morning, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Nayem, 18, son of late Gafur Ali, a resident of Nurpur village of the upazila.

Haripad Sarker, station master of Maizgaon station, said the Sylhet-bound Jalalabad train hit Naim while he was walking on the rail tracks in the morning, leaving him dead on the spot.

Nazrul Islam, local union parishad member, said Naim had been suffering from mental illness for the last two and a half years.
