Satkhira District crowned champions in the men’s team while Khulna District won the title in the women’s team of the two-day Gazi Tyres and Blazer BD Third National Men’s and the First Women’s Sepak Takraw Championship-2018 at the Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium in the capital on Monday.

Bangladesh Sepak Takraw Association (BSA) organised the tournament.

Satkhira clinched the title beating Khulna by straight 2-0 set in the men’s group while Khulna won against Rangamati in the women’s group by 2-1 sets in their respective finals.

In the men’s doubles event, Riaz and Zakir pair of Dhaka sealed the title beating Chattogram partner Moklesh and Sagar by 21-9, 21-17 points in the finals on Monday.

Director General of Labour Division of the Labour and Employment Ministry Shib Nath Roy distributed prizes among the winners as the chief guest in the finals.

Bangladesh Sepak Takraw Association President Kazi Rajib Uddin Ahmed Chapal and General Secretary Md Faruk Dhali, Bangladesh Olympic Association Deputy Secretary Asaduzzaman Kohinoor and officials from the associations, sponsor companies and different federations were also present during the prize distribution ceremony.

In men’s category, a total of 120 participants from 24 districts including 48 coaches and officials and in women’s group, 50 participants from 10 districts including 20 coaches and officials took part in the team and double events competition.
